daagwerk Documentation Setting up notifications

Chapter 9

Setting up notifications

Set your internal roles and understand which events trigger automatic email notifications.

Setting up notifications

What it is

daagwerk automatically sends emails before budgets or purchase orders become a problem – targeted at the people internally responsible, not the customer.

Step 1: Set your internal roles

  1. Open the Account (Manage → Accounts → name) and click Edit.
  2. In the Internal roles block, enter name + email for:
    • Account Manager → alert recipient,
    • Customer Success → alert recipient,
    • Customer contact → contact person only (no alerts).
  3. Save.

Without an Account Manager or Customer Success email on file, nothing is sent for that account – there is deliberately no fallback to external recipients.

Step 2: Understand the events

EventWhenFrequency
Purchase order exhaustedBudget of an active PO used upimmediately
Purchase order expiringPO reaches the final days before expirydaily check
Budget thresholdPO or project budget reaches 80 % / 100 %daily check
Orphan bookingsBookings without a PO sit around too longweekly digest
  • “Purchase order exhausted” arrives immediately (in the booking path).
  • The rest are checked daily by daagwerk, which reports new cases.

No duplicate emails

Each event is reported once – no daily repetition of the same message. Only the orphan bookings digest deliberately recurs weekly for as long as the gap remains open.

Channel

Delivery is by email over the same mail server as password-reset and invitation emails.

Personal timer reminder

Separately from this, daagwerk reminds you of your own long-running timers – by email and optionally by browser push. This is a personal notification (not an account alert) and is configured in your Profile under timer stops.

Tips & pitfalls

  • For your most important accounts, enter a shared or team address as the Account Manager so no one misses a notification.
  • The 80 % early warning arrives before the hard exhaustion – use it to enter a follow-up PO in good time.
